Stress management-
"I need to relax and recharge my batteries to deal with stress and pressure, so I can live long enough after retirement to enjoy what I’ve earned." (Hewitt, 2009)
Conflict Resolution-
"Breakdowns in communication can be repaired with guided episodes of communication involving the mutual exchange of stories and the meaning associated with them. Stories help to restore respect and encourage active listening during conflict". (Noonan, 2009)
Time management-
"National Joint Powers Alliance is a procurement cooperative that offers greater purchasing power for schools of any size. NJPA selects the vendors and issues the RFP, which saves the school system significant time and effort" (Woodruff, 2009).
The strategies described here are the following: establishing a team with individual roles and skills, taking time to recharge and relax, using stories to resolve conflicts and using an outside source to provide some needs of the school.
The first two strategies mentioned (establishing a team and taking time to relax) have only positive effects. The third one of using stories to solve conflicts is beneficial but doesn't always work and can even cause a reverse effect than the one desired (if the student to whom the story is told decides to ignore it on purpose and do the opposite of what he's told). The fourth and last one, using an outside source to provide some school needs, can be very costly and means diffusing responsibilities which isn't good in most times.
